My Final Post :"(

Hello, my friends, and welcome back to my blog.

Today I will be writing my final post on this blog. We have come to the end of this term and I want to talk about my opinions on the Educational Technologies class we had and the tasks we have completed to this day.

 Before taking this class, I didn’t think that using technology in the language classroom would be this important for the student’s learning process. We started the term with a unit called 21st-century learning and I saw that using technology has a very important place in this century’s classrooms. As a teacher candidate, I find this class to be very important because if I didn’t have this class, I would probably use traditional methods to teach.

 We have completed a lot of different tasks and I found some of them to be very beneficial and fun while others to be hard. If I had to choose one, I would choose the Padlet task as my favorite. To make the project we came together at one of my friends’ house and worked together on our KWL charts. Looking back, it was very fun to work together to create our chart according to our tastes. And my least favorite one was probably the podcast task. To be honest I really liked the idea and I think it might be helpful for our students in the future but I found it kind of challenging to complete. There were a lot of factors affecting my opinion from us staying at dorms to finding a good program in which we can edit our audio. I would like to say that I didn’t hate it but if I had to choose, I would choose this one to be my least favorite.

 Overall, I really enjoyed this course even though I have complained about having a lot of tasks to complete from time to time :) I am sure that I will be using at least one of the methods that I have learned from this course in my classes in the future. I also really enjoyed writing on my own blog and I feel like I am going to be missing this :(.

Hello my friends and welcome back to my blog!  Today I am going to be talking about my experience of creating a corpus-based teaching material for the first time. For this assignment, we were supposed to choose a teaching unit from an English coursebook that is used by preparatory year students in Turkey. Me and my pair ( serra ) chose the difference between the adjectives ending with -ed and -ing (to give an example, bored/boring) from Unit 5. The reason is that we as Turkish EFL students have found it hard to differentiate between these usages when we started learning English. OUR AR/VR INTEGRATED TEACHING MATERIAL!

    Hello my friends and welcome back to my blog page!  Today, I'm going to write about my experience creating an AR/VR-integrated teaching material. For this assignment, I worked with my friend Serra Kara . We decided to create a material on visiting Rome, Italy. We used Canva to prepare our material as we both are familiar with it. For the landmarks, we chose the Colosseum and the Pantheon. Then, we found 360 videos and informational videos about both places on YouTube for the students to explore. We turned the links into QR codes using this site. We also needed to find a virtual museum in Rome for our material. Using this site, we linked a virtual museum for our students to visit. As a part of our material, we also had to write questions for each part for students to answer after watching the videos. My First Podcast Experience!

Hello, my friends! Today I will be talking about my experience recording a sound-rich story for the first time. This time, we were assigned to record a podcast for our educational technologies class. Our teacher gave us a few options, such as individual works, pair works, or creating a song, sound-rich story, etc. After discussing the other options, my friend ( Serra ) and I decided to make a sound-rich story as it was the most suitable option for us. There were certain words that our teacher sent us to use in our story and we chose five of them and wrote our story together. Our story is called “Lily’s Birthday Party”. It’s a short story about a five-year-old’s surprise birthday party. Our story is pretty simple because we were told to make it around 90 seconds and our story turned out to be 115 seconds.
